This couple!! They are so much fun! I have known Christie for several years and was so excited when she & Josh announced their engagement. I was thrilled and honored when she asked me to photograph their wedding & engagement session! We sat down together to discuss the details and I asked them if there were any meaningful places or themes they would like to incorporate in their session. A handful of great ideas were thrown around and in the end we decided to shoot them ALL! Why not?! So the collection of highlights you'll see below are like a mega-session that we took at 4 locations over the span of a single evening, ending with waiting for sunset at the dock. The results were better than I could have imagined, thanks to this couple's relaxed & fun-loving presence. Her mom summed it up perfectly when she saw the entire gallery and posted, "I love their love!"
Read on and you'll see exactly what I mean!
Adorable, right?! Wait till you see these... taken at the Civic Center pavilion and basketball courts where Josh likes to play ball; sporting their Michigan State University gear.
And I have to let you in on their hilarious "cereal war"... which apparently happened for real on one of their first dates when they disagreed about which was better- his favorite: Post Honey Graham Oh's or her favorite: Kellogg's Krave- and during that date they tried to settled it with a cereal taste-off. The battle still continues to this day, lovingly of course, so we decided to document it!
Too funny! Another highlight of this session was shooting outside at Canterbury Village, and then being graciously allowed to photograph inside the Woodside Bible Church where her parents attend. These two can both play piano (that's an understatement....I attended one of Christie's piano concerts a few years back, and WOW!) so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to borrow the church's baby grand for a few moments!
Here are a few from our first location, Friendship Park, where we enjoyed the spring blossoms and rustic white barn.
Let me end this recap back at the dock, where the golden sunset gave us the PERFECT grand finale!
Josh & Christie- I'm a huge fan of you guys. Thank you for letting me capture these genuine images of the love & friendship you share! It sure is something special! Can't wait for your wedding day!
