This sweet couple got married this December at the Lapeer Country Club and it was a beautiful, emotional day. Having all these Christmas lights decorating the reception hall was magical! Chuck & Sarah are so down-to-earth and laid back and make such a great pair! I was so moved listening to the toasts and hearing the stories that made their family & friends cry tears of laughter and tears of heartache. These two have both been through the loss of a parent but this day showed how much love & support they have received from their families and given to each other. As a beautiful way to honor her mother, Sarah wore a bracelet that was custom made in the shape of her mother's signature. Keep reading to see these moments as well as the lighter ones... like the guy who changed into the ugly green Christmas suit to rock the dance floor at the end of the evening!
The rain couldn't ruin this wedding day! Not when you have a fun, laid-back couple like Josh & Christie, who are SO crazy in love with each other! This guy had a stack of letters to give to his bride on their wedding day that he had started writing BEFORE they even met! But what I loved the most about this celebration was hearing over and over about how much of an impact these two have had on the people around them as they boldly live out their faith & go out of their way to love and serve those around them. I can only imagine what God is going to do through this dynamic duo! Read on to see more photos from their wedding & reception at Macomb Christian Church in Shelby Twp, MI... including a quick trip with the groom & groomsmen to the nearby Sky Zone trampoline park for a few minutes of pre-wedding dodge ball and slam-dunking!
I met these two a little over a year ago at their engagement session and they were so sweet! Their wedding day seemed really far away at that time and I was so happy for them when the following fall finally arrived and it was their turn to get married! We had a gorgeous, sunny day for David & Tina's wedding ceremony & reception, both held at Devil's Ridge Golf Club in Oxford, MI. The views were amazing! But even more breathtaking were the centerpieces that Tina picked out! The tables had golden trees with cascading crystals or white pumpkin lanterns with gold votive candles. Their "Mr & Mrs" head table sign made out of wine corks was adorable, along with the spreads of eucalyptus throughout the room. Another highlight was the gift she put together for David. This girl went all out! David is a big U of M football fan, hence the groom's cake in the shape of a Michigan helmet, but she also surprised him with a Michigan cooler FULL of goodies AND game tickets! You've got to read on to see the fun & beautiful moments from their wedding day!
Ben & Lyssa planned their wedding for a Fall weekend at the historic Thumb Octagon Barn in Gagetown. Little did they know it would be one of the hottest temps ever recorded in Michigan for September 23rd, reaching over 90 degrees! The guys were prepared with coolers full of bottled water to share with guests as they entered the venue. Meanwhile, the girls made their way from the salon to the ceremony on a bus with no a/c and all the windows down! While that may not sound like fun, the ladies arrived with smiles & laughter and ready to begin the festivities! After a beautiful ceremony complete with some of the most adorable flower girls you've ever seen, everyone joined the happy couple at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw to celebrate their marriage. Read on to see the highlights from this lovely couple's wedding day!
Here are the highlights from Nick & Karlee's wedding day! It was a beautiful August afternoon at the Boulder Pointe Golf Club in Oxford, Michigan. (A place near & dear to my heart as my own wedding was held there 13 years ago!) While the ladies were preparing their hair & makeup in the bridal suite, Nick was out enjoying the driving range! The ceremony was held on the beautiful greens, and afterwards the bridal party took a line of golf carts out for a quick spin and some photos. Karlee had some gorgeous, glamorous decor at the reception! Check out the sparkly tablecloths, ceiling swag, and chandelier! But the brightest part of the day was seeing the face of their 6-month-old son LIGHT UP with a smile every time one of his grandmas called out his name during photos! You've got to see those, so keep scrolling! You also won't want to miss the fun had by all on the dance floor- especially with the Wobble. ;-)
Josh & Tracey are such a sweet couple! It's so obvious that they are best friends & so in love. Their wedding ceremony was held in a beautiful old chapel on the property of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb, MI. It was so full of character- with antique wood staircases and stained glass windows. The perfect setting for this beautiful bride! After the ceremony guests headed to the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township. This is such an amazing venue. The hall was the perfect combination of glam & industrial and decorated so beautifully. I fell in love with the classic Packard cars as I followed the guests on a tour of the garage, which is now a museum full of classic cars that have been donated to this historic site. Josh & Tracey also made good use of the grounds by setting up yard games & activities for their friends & family to enjoy. I adore this couple; the way he makes her laugh during photos because, well, they admit that neither of them particularly enjoy being in front of a camera... BUT they did so great and put up with me even while waiting for the perfect moment when the sunset turned to gold. Totally worth it- keeping scrolling to check out that photo from the end of the day!
Krystal has taken the Throne! (Name, that is...) and she was an absolutely stunning bride as you'll see in the photos below. The bride & her bridesmaids sang along with their favorite teen Disney music as they had their hair & makeup beautifully done in their hotel suite, and I'm pretty sure she & her sister missed their calling to be in the cast of High School Musical. It didn't surprise me at all to hear that she & Zach shared their first kiss on stage and he is still very much involved in acting & theatre. This couple was so much fun to be around. One of the highlights of their reception was a game called "The Shoe Game" where they sat in chairs with their backs to one another and each held one of HIS shoes and one of HER shoes. For each statement made by the best man they had to raise one of the shoes to show who better fits the statement. "Well, if the shoe fits...." had a literal meaning and it was very entertaining to watch. We learned who the better cook is (Krystal) and who is the better driver (Zach). Some were a bit tricky, and some may still be up for debate. ;-) I hope you enjoy the highlights from their wedding day as much as I enjoyed being there to capture them! Read on to see more:
Bryan & Terri's wedding day was packed with emotion and excitement. From their first look in the church garden where Bryan was moved to tears at just the THOUGHT of seeing his bride, to the ceremony where their teenage son's tears triggered all the bridesmaids to shed some tears, and again at the reception with the moving toasts... it was clear that everyone was beyond happy for this couple! The day was also filled with laughter and fun as the bridal party took over the Caro Golf Club and cruised around in 7 golf carts (no, not the Jeeps!) with the pedals to the floor. And later when they took to the dance floor everyone let loose and had a great time! It was such a perfect celebration for this fun-loving couple and their marriage! Read on to see more!
This wedding day was full of beautiful people and places! Kelly was a stunning bride and her bridesmaids looked amazing in their blush pink dresses. Larry was a good-looking groom; so much so that his groomsmen were harassing him all day and we had a lot of great laughs during photos! (I may have to sneak some of those into this blog!) The kids were adorable and the proof of that can be seen below! This historic church- Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan- is filled with colorful stained glass windows including the enormous backdrop for the wedding ceremony. Their reception hall looked amazing, despite the fact that Kelly received a call ONE week before their wedding that their original venue had flooded from a burst water pipe and they were working to relocate them! I'm sure this was stressful during the last-minute wedding details, but everything was smoothly transitioned to be held at The Henry, Autograph Collection, in Dearborn. It was a BEAUTIFUL venue and the planner and team did an amazing job to pull it off! I enjoyed working with these families so much and hope the photos did their day justice! When Nichole shared her wedding plans with me she laughed a little as she explained that her backyard wedding would be held in her grandfather's construction yard, complete with two dump trucks and a backhoe. She went on to tell me about their plans to decorate with giant paper flowers (which turned out beautifully!) and to set up a white tent, a dance floor, and bonfire seating. I LOVED that her day would be so personal & unique, and it really struck a chord with me when she said wanted her reception to be a backyard BBQ & bonfire because these gatherings "feel like home". I was so intrigued and couldn't wait to see this day unfold! Because she had moved to Texas where they now live, she planned this wedding from out-of-state and came back to her hometown of Oxford, Michigan with just 5 weeks to finish the details. Check out how great it turned out, with the gorgeous centerpieces and amazing reclaimed pallet benches. And be sure to read till the end to see a special photo with her grandfather as well as some after-dark sparkler fun!
