It was a bright & beautiful September weekend in Michigan when Todd & Amy tied the knot! Their ceremony was held at St. Kieran Catholic Church in Shelby Township, and the wedding reception took place in the grand ballroom at MacRay Harbor overlooking the bay. The steel blue bridesmaids dresses were a perfect match with the panoramic views of the water! And because this couple loves to explore the Metroparks, we made a stop along the way at the scenic Lake St. Clair Metropark for some bridal party photos. This gorgeous couple had a glorious wedding day full of beauty, laughs, and happy tears. Rachel had everything organized down to the last detail and did a fabulous job making her dream wedding come to life! The bridal party was a great group of family & friends and everyone looked amazing in their navy blue gowns & grey suits... especially when the guys added their sunglasses on this bright fall day. I can't wait to share these moments with you, and I couldn't help but get caught up in Rachel's emotions as she walked down the aisle, listened to the speeches & toasts, danced with her dad, AND squealed with excitement when the DJ played her favorite song and she bounced to the dance floor.
It was such an honor to join this family at their intimate beach wedding on Lake Michigan. They've always loved to travel to the Grand Haven & Muskegon area to spend time at the beach with their sweet dog, Bry, so it was the perfect choice for a small destination wedding. Shelby expressed to me that the photos were the most important element of this event as she was so happy to have her parents, siblings, kids, and grandkids there as we captured these moments!
As the wedding hour approached we were working on a back-up plan due to some heavy rain & storms moving through. But the clouds parted just in time for the celebration to begin and the night ended with an amazing sunset on the lake! The following morning the family rejoined for a reception brunch at Jack's Waterfront Bistro at the Grand Haven Holiday Inn. Here are some of the highlights of this beautiful weekend!
This couple has grown very dear to my heart as I've gotten to know them & their lovely sets of parents! Their story is adorable and consists of coffee shops, friendship, Disney movies, and what felt like a long wait before officially dating. Josh came to our church in Michigan as an intern and had made a commitment to spend the year focusing on the work God had laid before him. But God was about to bring something special into his life as well, and it was a beautiful thing to watch their relationship blossom. What a joyous celebration their engagement and wedding day has been! Keep scrolling to see their wedding day unfold, on what was supposed to be a very rainy day in the end of May! (Spoiler Alert: not a single drop of rain that I can remember!)
Greg & Nicole have quite a history with photos dating back to their high school days, and quite a story as they went their separate ways after graduation. Little did they know that their paths would cross again later in life and bring them to this day! Their wedding day was exactly what they were looking for- a small, relaxed gathering of family and friends with plenty of time to talk, laugh, and dance! The ceremony and reception were held at Blake Farms in Armada, Michigan; home of Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill. It turned out beautifully! Read on to see more!
This sweet couple got married this December at the Lapeer Country Club and it was a beautiful, emotional day. Having all these Christmas lights decorating the reception hall was magical! Chuck & Sarah are so down-to-earth and laid back and make such a great pair! I was so moved listening to the toasts and hearing the stories that made their family & friends cry tears of laughter and tears of heartache. These two have both been through the loss of a parent but this day showed how much love & support they have received from their families and given to each other. As a beautiful way to honor her mother, Sarah wore a bracelet that was custom made in the shape of her mother's signature. Keep reading to see these moments as well as the lighter ones... like the guy who changed into the ugly green Christmas suit to rock the dance floor at the end of the evening!
The rain couldn't ruin this wedding day! Not when you have a fun, laid-back couple like Josh & Christie, who are SO crazy in love with each other! This guy had a stack of letters to give to his bride on their wedding day that he had started writing BEFORE they even met! But what I loved the most about this celebration was hearing over and over about how much of an impact these two have had on the people around them as they boldly live out their faith & go out of their way to love and serve those around them. I can only imagine what God is going to do through this dynamic duo! Read on to see more photos from their wedding & reception at Macomb Christian Church in Shelby Twp, MI... including a quick trip with the groom & groomsmen to the nearby Sky Zone trampoline park for a few minutes of pre-wedding dodge ball and slam-dunking!
I met these two a little over a year ago at their engagement session and they were so sweet! Their wedding day seemed really far away at that time and I was so happy for them when the following fall finally arrived and it was their turn to get married! We had a gorgeous, sunny day for David & Tina's wedding ceremony & reception, both held at Devil's Ridge Golf Club in Oxford, MI. The views were amazing! But even more breathtaking were the centerpieces that Tina picked out! The tables had golden trees with cascading crystals or white pumpkin lanterns with gold votive candles. Their "Mr & Mrs" head table sign made out of wine corks was adorable, along with the spreads of eucalyptus throughout the room. Another highlight was the gift she put together for David. This girl went all out! David is a big U of M football fan, hence the groom's cake in the shape of a Michigan helmet, but she also surprised him with a Michigan cooler FULL of goodies AND game tickets! You've got to read on to see the fun & beautiful moments from their wedding day!
Ben & Lyssa planned their wedding for a Fall weekend at the historic Thumb Octagon Barn in Gagetown. Little did they know it would be one of the hottest temps ever recorded in Michigan for September 23rd, reaching over 90 degrees! The guys were prepared with coolers full of bottled water to share with guests as they entered the venue. Meanwhile, the girls made their way from the salon to the ceremony on a bus with no a/c and all the windows down! While that may not sound like fun, the ladies arrived with smiles & laughter and ready to begin the festivities! After a beautiful ceremony complete with some of the most adorable flower girls you've ever seen, everyone joined the happy couple at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw to celebrate their marriage. Read on to see the highlights from this lovely couple's wedding day!
Here are the highlights from Nick & Karlee's wedding day! It was a beautiful August afternoon at the Boulder Pointe Golf Club in Oxford, Michigan. (A place near & dear to my heart as my own wedding was held there 13 years ago!) While the ladies were preparing their hair & makeup in the bridal suite, Nick was out enjoying the driving range! The ceremony was held on the beautiful greens, and afterwards the bridal party took a line of golf carts out for a quick spin and some photos. Karlee had some gorgeous, glamorous decor at the reception! Check out the sparkly tablecloths, ceiling swag, and chandelier! But the brightest part of the day was seeing the face of their 6-month-old son LIGHT UP with a smile every time one of his grandmas called out his name during photos! You've got to see those, so keep scrolling! You also won't want to miss the fun had by all on the dance floor- especially with the Wobble. ;-)
